The importance of Prayer!

Posted on: October 1st, 2019 by ktaylor

Matthew 26:41(NIV)
41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

I felt for our next Bible study the need for prayer should be addressed, with some much needed questions to be ask and prayerfully answered. In preparing for this Bible study I spoke with several people both men and women asking questions like, why should Christians pray, how often should we pray, what happens when we pray and how important is prayer? With some of the responses the Holy Spirit really began to stir the emotions in my heart therefore bringing this Bible study to print. So with that lets get started. We will begin listing the questions and then the responses;

> Why should Christians pray?
*It strengthens our relationship with God
*Even though God knows all,He still wants to hear from us
*Praying settles us down and allows us to keep our eyes focused on God
*Jesus instructed us to pray, He said it’s imperative we pray

>How often should we pray?
*1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”

>What happens when we pray?
*God Hears us
*God talks to us
*We draw closer to God
*Prayer allows us to praise God
*Prayer allows us praying to draw those around us closer to God
*God acts

>How important is prayer?
*the importance of prayer is found with all the above added together. Prayer is a must for spiritual growth, communication, direction along with guidance. Prayer along with the studying of Gods word allows us to gain knowledge.
*Prayer allows us to experience the love of Jesus Christ.

With whats been listed,we have a pretty good starting point, however through prayer and God’s guidance much more will be revealed. Remember these Bible studies are about studying God’s word and fellowship that through interaction and prayer draw us closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.
